London - 7/24/2024 - The Dulles Airport Blues

Train to Union Station gave me lots of writing time, but uneventful.  Was nice to travel Bussiness Class.  The cabin was quiet and folks generally kept to themselves.s  I had a litle confusion finding the Metro entrance, but it it's just that it was close enough to spit at.

Apparently Benjamin Netanyahu is in town - lots of fences put up to control foot traffic.  Saw no protestors near Union Statioin, but the flow of traffic was diverted.

Red line to Silver line & arrived safely.  Found my way to the Virgin Atlantic Check-in.  Waited the better part of a hour, then a girl named Mary went up to ask to check in her bag & was turned back.  Apparently no bag checks until 6:15pm.

Airplane doesn't leave until after 10, so it's not a worry.  I may be able to get through my online checkin & put my pass into Google walet, so I'm sset for everything except for Bag check.  I went downstairs to have a sandwich & continue reading my book.  I should probably switch to glasses before boarding.

Also - I found some dramamine at the news stand place sso that wil help me sleep!

And a NEW JOY!  Train has been delayed untill 12:15 am

Bag is checked, I am pre-checked, my shoes have been scanned by TSA along with my dangerus cary on itams. Mot importanly, I'vee got decaf Peets coffee & my laptp i ready to go!  I'm feeling pretty chill.  Dules requires a video for internnnet access, so that's very gauche.
